Car Quay is a stylish modern car showroom that specialises in pre owned classic cars. The space consists of a large open showroom, offices and a recently installed mezzanine that covers around 1/3rd of the showroom floor.
The Installation Brief
Quite simply, audio was required to add an ambience to the large open showroom space where previously a car stereo had been wired to a speaker for background music. The facility for announcements to be made was also required to both the showroom and the bodyshop.
The Solution
We chose Apart-Audio OVO5T speakers throughout. These have an in built transformer enabling the speakers to be tapped to create different volume levels in different areas. 4 were fitted within the showroom area and over the mezzanine and an extra speaker placed under a canopy outside enabling it to be heard in the bodyshop should any announcements be made. The speakers were wired in a loop back to an Adastra RM240s line mixer / amplifier, which includes Blue tooth to enable wireless connectivity to the system via smart phone or tablet. USB and an Auxiliary inputs are also present should the customer choose to connect a device using the aux input or USB stick . The RM240s also has built in FM radio. This was wired to an existing external aerial via the antenna connection on the rear. We connected a Clever Audio Paging microphone with built in chime capability. This was wired to the microphone input that enables ‘voice ducking’, a feature that dips the music volume when an announcement needs to be made.
