Although a PA system was already present in the bar, it was very much installed for background music purposes and was of the modern wireless type that relied on Apps and internet strength. The client wanted to create much more of a buzz and had a strong theme planned to include drag cabaret style artistes so required dynamics, clarity of spoken word, but avoiding large speakers due to space.
By using a quantity of smaller speakers around the room and the installation of a small footprint sub bass enclosure we were able to achieve the required feel both with ambience and aesthetics. Our speakers of choice were Logic System Ci10’s. We had them sprayed to match the décor. Our small single 12” sub bass unit was hidden in a corner with a large planter on top! Within our amplifier rack, we opted for a live mixer as opposed to an install rack mount mixer, due to the amount of channels that are required when a live vocal act is performing. For this we opted for a For lighting, we looked at a simple solution that didn’t require DMX control during a busy night. A couple of simple Chauvet CorePar cans with remote control were chosen for the stage lighting. We installed 4 Equinox small moving heads, all DMX master / slave linked, and simply wired to a fused spur for simple on/off operation with the lights pre set to sound to light.
Finally, we installed a large smart screen television with a HDMi input for the laptop to show music videos. This was also linked to the audio to enable the music videos to help create a great atmosphere
”The Music Gear team are knowledgeable and great to work with. There was a few teething problems on the install, but it’s how these things are dealt with that matters. The team worked long and hard to make sure that all was sounding great for our pride event
