A purpose built clubhouse alongside the cricket pavilion. Heyside has a great cricketing pedigree and the sports and social club is the village hub that caters for a variety of sports events and private functions.
The Installation Brief
The current projector is old and requires replacing. New TV’s have recently been installed and this highlights how poor the current projector image is. The speakers in the separate function room are old and unsightly. The current audio mixer has also seen better days, so a general refresh of most of the equipment is required.
The Solution
We opted for a BENQ 5000lm projector installation. The current screen aspect ratio is 4.3 so we had to be sure to specify the correct projector, otherwise the picture would be too wide for the screen. Also the old projector was scart connectivity, which by comparison with modern technology gives poor picture quality. To resolve this we installed a HDMI 2-1 splitter, to enable the SKY box to feed both the 4K TV and the projector. We replaced the old mixer with a RCF M series 4 channel mixer. Into this we were able to feed the audio from the projector as well as the juke box and the general 3.5mm (aux) connectivity. All had individual channel control that we clearly labelled. Finally we replaced the old speakers in the upstairs function room with a pair of AUDAC PX10 installation wall mounted speakers. These are a very neat speaker enclosure that produces a great full range sound from the 10” woofer and the 1” high frequency compression driver. Being a 10” enclosure it also benefits from being a relatively small size.
”When I contacted MGI via their website, they responded within 24 hours with a call where I was able to discuss our situation. We were also getting very close to the knockout stages of the Euros, so things had to be done fairly quickly! I was unsure with MGI being based in Nottingham whether they would come, but Andy paid us a site visit and established what we needed. Within a couple of weeks the team came up and got everything sorted within the day, just in time for the semi finals, and THAT final. A great job well done.
