Village pub & restaurant, specialising in good home cooked food. The pub has recently re opened after being closed for a while to have a total refit. Live music also featured.
The Installation Brief
The pub av install is split mainly into 3 areas. There is a fairly long dining area, the bar area and a dining / conservatory area. Music was required to be fed to all 3 with the potential for different volume levels. Background music and solo live acoustic music is planned. A microphone was required for quiz nights that took place regularly. Although the pub didn’t require individual ‘zoned’ areas, different volume levels were required.
The Solution
We installed a quantity of Apart Audio OVO5 PA speakers in the restaurant dining room and conservatory area. The bar area created more ambient noise, so in this area we installed 2 x Apart Audio Mask6 Speakers. These are more powerful and have a better frequency response than the smaller Ovo range. Because the live music space was fairly small, the owners didn’t want entertainers bringing in large speakers. We installed a twin XLR wall plate and wired this back to an input channel on the line mixer, which was an Adastra ML series with Blue tooth, RCA and further line inputs, including microphone inputs. Amplification of choice was the Citronic QL1600 Quad amplifier. This has 4 channels so different volumes in each area could be achieved without the need of a separate Zoner. We supplied a cost effective Chord UHF radio microphone. This was more versatile than a wired microphone, enabling the quiz to be done from anywhere in the pub.
”I used Music Gear Installations at my other pub a couple of years ago, The Manor in Toton, Nottinghamshire and they did a nice job. This job was a bit more involved being as the place was just a shell. Again, the job was neat, on time and on budget. Everything works well.
