A typical Doctors surgery with medical centre and pharmacy. It is a relatively new practice which has recently undergone an extension. A fantastic modern facility that requires an up-to-date audio visual set up to match.
The Installation Brief
When the extension was carried out the building contractors removed all of the previous wiring to the old speaker system. The building is on 2 floors. Speakers require installing in the reception, corridor and waiting room on the ground floor and corridor and waiting room on the first floor. Both floors have TV’s installed. There is suspended ceiling throughout a large part of the building but a conservatory type roof to the ground floor extension.
The Solution
To the areas that have ceiling tiles we installed Clever Acoustics CS6030HP Ceiling speakers. These speakers are encased a metal enclosure which aids sound quality and directivity. They also include a tapping facility when ran on 100 volt line. This enables each speaker to be adjusted sound level wise and power output wise. This is also important when matching the total speaker output to the maximum power of the amplifier. Where we couldn’t install Ceiling speakers, Apart Audio OVO5T series were chosen for their slick appearance and sound quality. Again, these were wired using the 100 volt line transformer. We also installed an Adastra ZM series multi Zone mixer amplifier with Bluetooth for wireless connectivity of a smart phone device and USB port for playing back music from a USB stick. It also has multiple amplifier channels, making this suitable to individually Zone each floor. Finally we connected the TV’s to a line input of the mixer amplifier. This enabled audio sound control of the TV’s across both floors.
”Mick first came to see us right at the very start of the Covid pandemic. We kept in touch throughout and agreed a time to come in during the crisis. Their installer Ian came out to assess the job further and because we’re an exceptionally busy place at this time, arranged to do the installation on a Sunday when the practice was closed. We were very grateful for this of course as it prevented any disruption to our patients.
