Busy City Centre bar over 2 floors with a heavy influence on sports events with numerous large TV screens required. Although DJ’s don’t perform, the music was a key feature to help create the atmosphere.
The Installation Brief
Music needed to be mainly background but loud enough to cope during a busy weekend. TV commentary needed to also be routed through the sound system. Areas where there are no TV’s needed to be able to play music whilst the sports events were still being shown. The rooms around the pub are fairly small, with low ceilings so the speakers needed to be as small as possible, without compromising the sound quality.
The Solution
We chose 8 x Apart Audio Mask 6 full range speaker enclosures around the main pub area. These were driven by 2 x Yamaha PX series Power Amplifiers. Because the bar required music in one part and sports commentary in another simultaneously, we installed a Cloud CX263 Zoner to enable us to individually Zone these areas. The main rack of controller and amplifiers were installed away from the bar in an office. To allow zone selection and volume control, we installed 2 x Cloud RSL-6 volume and select plates behind the bar. These gave total flexibility and control over the different zones. We installed a total of 8 LG Televisions, from 65” in the main area, down to 32” in a small alcove area. These were all wired back to the main rack using a Pro Signal 4×4 HDMI Matrix switcher, which also allowed for splitting whatever was broadcast on the TV’s.
